We do research to promote social and ecological justice. We understand research as a networked practice that allows a better understanding of urban reality in order to intervene and transform it.

We are located at Carrer Balmes, 13 Baixos (Barcelona) where we hold our public activities.

The strategic axes that run through all our activities are: transformative social institutions, fair ecological transition and economic democracy.

Transformative social institutions

Transformative social institutions are self-organized entities whose main objective is to expand the negotiation and advocacy capabilities of those who have the least, thus achieving decent living conditions for all.

Through our work, we seek for these institutions to endure, self-assess problems and grow.

Just ecological transition

To guarantee the existence of all people and the rest of the living world, we need social power and planned actions that make an integrated economic model viable within planetary boundaries.

We devote resources to research within this framework and to fostering strategic alliances between environmentalism, social unionism and public action.

Economic
democracy

The market economy and neoliberal policies have increased inequalities, reducing the capacity for citizen participation in the regulation of the economy.

We advocate processes and practices that enable collective governance of public resources and infrastructure, and an expansion of social control of investment.
