The economy that GDP hides. A first approach to measure the plural economy.
There is a reality ignored by macroeconomics: the activities that sustain social and environmental well-being are neither measured nor valued in GDP calculations. We are faced with a great paradox: GDP does not detect the economies that produce well-being, nor does it detect those that deteriorate our environment.
This report aims to contribute ideas for building new metrics that make visible the economies and mutual support relationships rooted in the territory, which adhere to principles of social justice, sustainability, and community solidarity. The development of new metrics promotes the reduction of dependency on the global chain, increasing the sovereignty and productive capacity of the territories.
