Urban Communalities

Urban Communalities is a program of the Department of Enterprise and Labor of the Catalan Government that aims to promote a fairer organization of the economy. Up until now, there are twenty-two communalities spread throughout the Catalan territory, formed by companies, entities, cooperatives and neighborhood and mutual support networks.

The objective of the program is to create new economic projects that, through self-organization, can respond to collective needs and contribute to local development by promoting and strengthening common goods and initiatives based on cooperation and mutual support.
